Particleboard is a type of board made from wood or other lignocellulosic materials. It is produced by processing wood into chips or particles, mixing them with adhesives, and then hot-pressing them into shape.
1. Furniture Manufacturing: Particleboard is commonly used as a base material for wardrobes, bookcases, cabinets, and other furniture. The surface can be veneered with wood veneer, PVC, or melamine to enhance its aesthetics.
2. Building Decoration: Used for wall cladding, ceilings, partitions, and other decorative projects. Particleboard with good fire resistance and moisture resistance is particularly suitable for public places.
3. Packaging Materials: Due to its lightweight and good compressive strength, particleboard is often used to make pallets and packing boxes.
4. Engineering Applications: For example, asphalt particleboard is often used as a filler for expansion joints in roads and water conservancy projects, possessing waterproof and corrosion-resistant properties.
