Hollow core particle board, also called hollow chipboard, tubular particle board or tubular chipboard, is made from light weight wood chips with hollowed holes in the panels.

With weight reduced by about 60% compared to regular solid particleboard, the hollow core particle board has a particularly low swelling in thickness, high impact resistance and dimensional stability. These boards have become the industry standard for Door cores.
