Maintenance And Care Of Multi-layer Boards And Plywood

Plywood is a sheet material made by rotary cutting logs into veneers or slicing timber into thin sheets, then gluing them together with adhesives. It is a commonly used board product in the modern decoration industry, mainly used for furniture surfaces. Therefore, plywood maintenance becomes plywood furniture maintenance.

 

For furniture with plywood surfaces, do not wash it with water during routine cleaning to prevent the plywood from delaminating. General stains can be removed with detergent, then wiped dry with a soft, damp cloth. In addition, the following key points should be noted for daily maintenance of plywood furniture:

 

1. Plywood furniture should be placed on a stable surface to prevent damage to the mortise and tenon joints.

2. Do not expose plywood to direct sunlight to prevent warping.

3. Do not place it in damp, poorly ventilated areas, otherwise it will easily absorb moisture, swell, and deteriorate.

4. For furniture such as wardrobes, do not place heavy objects on top of them, as this can easily cause the door frames to warp.

5. If plywood furniture has cracks, use a mixture of putty and paint to fill the cracks and prevent them from spreading and widening.

6. When cleaning the surface of plywood furniture, never use alkaline water or boiling water, as this may damage the finish.

7. If the furniture surface gets stained with alkaline water or other stains, wipe it clean with water immediately and then apply furniture wax.
